Founded in 2007 Peter Conway Consultancy offers positive behaviour support policy, practice and training services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, service providers and community service organisations who support people with a disability and complex support needs.
Peter has 27 years’ experience as a senior manager and behaviour support practitioner with NSW and QLD state government disability services. He wants to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices, uphold human rights, and promote the safety and wellbeing of all people with disability.
A member of the Australian Community Workers Association, Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology (MA) and has current candidature in a Professional Doctorate in Public Policy with the University of New South Wales. Peter’s PhD thesis topic is ‘how do NDIS behaviour support practitioners make decisions about restrictive practices?’
I can develop policy and practice to ensure your organisation has a robust clinical governance system and is compliant with the NDIS Practice Standards.
I provide practice supervision in accordance with the PBS Capability Framework that outlines the capabilities required of behaviour support practitioners providing behaviour support under the NDIS.
I am an Advanced Level Behaviour Support Practitioner (no: P0004681) registered with the NDIS.
I am contracted by NSW Government to serve as an Independent Specialist on Restrictive Practice Authorisation Panels.
